Infrastructure Priorities:

  • Protect View Royal’s green spaces ensuring our residents have safe and clean access to the outdoors.

  • Advocate for a study of the potential to turn the E&N Railroad into a transportation corridor for buses and emergency services vehicles

Having green spaces improves physical and mental health, allows space for dogs and children to play, and provides areas for our community to gather. Residents of View Royal take pride in the character of our town and green spaces are integral to maintaining that standard.

All major transportation networks from Victoria to the Westshore and up-island run through View Royal. We must work with surrounding municipalities and the provincial government to explore infrastructure projects that will alleviate congestion. The Esquimalt Nanaimo Railroad is an established transportation corridor with incredible potential. We need to study the option of paving a roadway through the corridor that would be for the exclusive use of public transportation and emergency services vehicles. This corridor will provide a reliable alternative for people on their daily commute to work, which in turn will help reduce rush hour traffic. The corridor will also provide emergency services vehicles with a traffic free route that will help improve response times.
